Numbness And Tingling: When To See A Doctor
Most mild, short-lived tingling is harmless, for example after sitting cross-legged. These signs mean it is time to see a clinician.
Book a medical visit if you notice
According to NINDS, numbness or tingling (especially in the hands and feet), loss of temperature sensation, balance or coordination problems, muscle weakness or twitching, painful cramping, abnormal sweating, digestive or blood-pressure problems can all point to nerve problems, and pain that is worse at night or disrupts sleep deserves evaluation.
Symptoms that are getting worse, spreading, or affecting one side more than the other should not wait.
Get urgent help if
Sudden weakness, a drooping face, trouble speaking, severe sudden headache, loss of bladder or bowel control or numbness in the groin area appear suddenly. Call your local emergency number.
If you have diabetes
Check your feet every day and tell your care team about any new numbness, burning, sores or blisters. Do not wait for them to hurt.
Why a supplement is not the first step
Causes range from vitamin deficiency and diabetes to pinched nerves, thyroid disease, medicines and alcohol. Each one is handled differently. A supplement cannot tell you which one you have.
🩺 Persistent or worsening numbness, tingling, burning or weakness needs a medical evaluation first. A supplement is not a diagnosis and not a treatment.
